Dalkeith Mine Water Treatment Scheme

On Wednesday 7 January, while working on the construction of our new Dalkeith mine water treatment scheme, we were alerted to a reduction in the water flowing from the Old Fordell mine water drainage tunnel.

Our priority is to ensure the local community and environment are not affected. We’re working with a range of partners to resolve this as quickly as we can. Local people know their area best, so if you notice anything unusual like water collecting where it shouldn’t, dips in the ground, or odd noises coming from underground, please call our 24-hour hazard line straight away on 0800 288 4242.

If you have any questions or concerns, we are available during office hours on 01623 637000 or customerservice@miningremediation.gov.uk.
