Update to our works at Old Fordell Tunnel
Thank you for your patience and understanding whilst our pumping operations continue. We successfully carried out maintenance works on the pipeline on 16 June, and water levels underground continue to be at the level they were at before the incident occurred.
We are pleased to say that the pedestrian crossing on Newmills Road was fixed by Midlothian Council whilst we carried out the maintenance work on the pipeline. We are sorry for the inconvenience for the time the crossing was out of action.
Our plans for the permanent pipeline continue to progress and we are working closely with Midlothian Council on permits for the ground investigation works and licences for the pipeline. We expect the ground investigation work to start in early July.
Works at our Mine Water Treatment Site
Our contractors, Bentleys, continue to make great progress with the placement of steel to the building basement walls, and further concrete deliveries will be required to pour these.
