Camberwell Drive update: 19 December 2025
Site remediation
We have made excellent progress by drilling and grouting the first two stabilisation holes before the Christmas break. This is an important step in remediating the shaft and forms part of our long-term plan. We are thankful for residents’ continued patience as we move forward with this stage.
Christmas Arrangements
We understand that works can cause disruption, and we’re committed to minimising this wherever possible. To help with this, our contractors will not be undertaking any work between 19 December to 5 January.
To further avoid disruption during the holiday period, we’ll make sure all temporary equipment, such as road ramps are removed before this time. Please be assured, 24-hour security will stay in place during this time, and the site will be fully secured. Anything that could impact access or safety will be cleared before the festive period – and reinstated in January.
If you have any concerns about the site throughout the Christmas period, please do call our 24/7 incident hotline 0800 2884242. Mining Remediation staff are also working and if you need to contact us, please call our customer service team on 0345 762 6848.
Upcoming Works
After the Christmas break, we will resume drilling and grouting to stabilise the shaft and surrounding ground. We are currently tendering for the contractor to take on the next phase of work. This decision will be made early in the new year. We hope to provide more information in our next update. In the meantime, we will continue to remotely monitor the site over the Christmas break.
