Camberwell Drive update: 7 November 2025

Upcoming works and local arrangements

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue essential work to remediate the mine shaft at Camberwell Drive. Your cooperation helps us keep the project running smoothly for the benefit and safety of everyone in the community.

The Bailey Bridge will arrive on Monday 10 November, and our team will assemble it on Tuesday and Wednesday morning, with installation planned for the afternoon of 12 November. We are committed to keeping any disruption to a minimum and will work diligently to complete this phase as quickly and safely as possible.

To ensure everyone’s safety, traffic management measures will be put in place, resulting in the temporary closure of Camberwell Drive for one week. Ahead of the road closure on Monday, we have placed advanced warning signs and distributed leaflets to remind the local community.

We know changes in public transport can cause additional challenges. The bus route along Camberwell Drive will be closed for one week, and we encourage residents to check the Transport for Greater Manchester website www.tfgm.com for up-to-date travel advice and alternative options

We understand this is inconvenient and appreciate your flexibility. As we explained in our previous update, our working hours will change to 8:00am to 6:00pm and this will reduce the length of the schedule by 25 days.

Temporary car park

We have asked some residents to move their cars from driveways by 9:00am on 10 November so our teams can proceed without interruption. The temporary car park will be available for use from 8.00am on this day.  We are grateful for your help with this request.

Bin collection

In addition, we have asked those residents to place their bins at the end of their driveways for collection on 13 November. We will do our best to ensure waste collection runs as smoothly as possible during these works.

Communication and useful contacts

We will continue to send regular briefings directly to affected residents via email and publish them on our website.
