Camberwell Drive update: 29 October 2025

Road closure brought forward

We wanted to keep you fully informed about a recent change to the planned road closure on Camberwell Drive.

As we are making good progress on site, including the installation of piles for the Bailey Bridge and the use of faster-curing, stronger concrete, we are able to bring the road closure forward by a week.

This means the road closure will now take place from 10-14 November to allow for the installation of the Bailey bridge. We have consulted with the residents who will be most affected to try and minimise disruption, but we understand that this change may be still inconvenient for some. During this period, working hours will be extended to 8am – 6pm as previously mentioned.

The Highways team at Tameside Council has agreed to these changes and will provide further updates to bus routes and timings.
