Camberwell Drive update: 1 May 2026

We would like to thank residents for their continued patience as we progress the remediation works at Camberwell Drive.

This week, we have continued with filling the piling holes with concrete in preparation for the next phase of works starting on 18 May.

Temporary one-way system on Camberwell Drive

Thank you to those residents who continue to correctly follow the one-way system. We are still receiving feedback from residents that some road users are still not following the one-way system, increasing the risk of accidents. As we have explained in previous updates, the one-way system is in place to ensure the safety of residents and those working on site, whilst allowing a smooth flow of traffic.

We understand this may be inconvenient for road users and appreciate your patience. We are continuing to monitor feedback and share this with Tameside Council who are responsible for the highways.

If you are travelling through the area, please follow the one-way signs and take extra care so everyone can move around safely.

We will keep you updated throughout the works and will reopen the road as soon as it is safe to do so. Residents will continue to have access to their driveways for the duration of the works.

We continue to work closely with Tameside Council and local transport providers to keep disruption to a minimum. For the latest public transport information, please visit Transport for Greater Manchester at www.tfgm.com.
